“L” the newly diagnosed diabetic has my mom call me to ask:
“Do you have a list of foods that are good for him to eat?”
“Why, yes, yes I do. The list is in the white folder from the hospital. Why? What is his concern?”
“He doesn’t know if he can eat a sweet potato?”
I’m guessing because it has the word ‘sweet’ in it.
“Yes, I say, “sweet potato is ok, but white potatoes, not so much.”
“Well, ” my mom says, “he’s drinking a beer now.”
A BEER?
“Yeah, a beer is wheat and sugar..that’s a no.”
“He says he doesn’t care, he’s gonna’ drink it anyway.”
So………………………the potato question………………….?????
“You just have to Laugh…..”

Nicely done, Cathy.
I need to channel your wit. You don’t mind, right?
Thanks.
Not only may you channel my wit…of which you clearly do not need to do….but I will have a virtual beer with you while doing so! You (and I) continue to amuse. Thanks Hook!
Got to stick to the subject- the potatoes!! Too funny!
Yea…we caregivers never know what we’re gonna’ get!
Typical 🙂
Soooo typical, especially for a beer drinking guy, which I KNOW you understand. Thanks for commenting, Marian…all the way from the Emerald Isle!
Oh man this is a chuckle. Worried about a spud but not a beer-well hey now maybe it was a light beer.
I know…..I’m never quite sure what the advice someone is looking for when clearly they want no advice!
That is the logic of some diabetics, until the disease really takes total control and it is too late to undo the damage bad decisions created. First hand experience talking from hubby issues.
Oh I know and I’m trying to be supportive without losing my cool!
That’s a riot!
